What inspired the name?

The Butterfly

Papilio translates to Butterfly in Latin.Butterflies undergo metamorphosis and this symbolizes the transformation,change and growth that takes place during the process of healing. The process for the caterpillar to transform into the BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY is not an easy journey. Correspondingly the process of personal growth, transformation and healing is also not an easy journey and leaves a person feeling uncomfortable and vulnerable.

Our Goal

At Papilio Play Therapy Service we want to assist individuals on their journey of personal growth, transformation and healing by creating a safe space where clients are seen and heard. We also strive to empower our clients to achieve holistic health: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Mrs. Meagan De Jager, a passionate and experience Social Worker, who obtained her BDIAC Degree at Hugenote College in 2007. She started her career at Department of Social Development Paarl, where she worked in the Child Protection Unit for 15 years. She is currently a Masters of Social Work candidate registered at the University of Pretoria, in the field of Play-based intervention.
